Mar. 25, 2010

Saratoga, CA, March 25, 2010: Tanya Candia, CEO of Candia Communications, board trustee at the Hakone Foundation and member of the board of Youth Mattes, has been named one of the Most Influential Women in Silicon Valley. The award, sponsored by the San Jose Business Journal, recognizes the achievements of women who are making a difference in business, government or nonprofits in Silicon Valley.

Tanya has been actively involved in helping build libraries in Africa in conjunction with Youth Matters, and has helped Hakone Estate and Gardens, the oldest Asian estate in the Western Hemisphere, grow into an international multicultural venue. Her work with startups aroudn the world has helped launch new technologies and has given small companies the boost they need to build market momentum.

The 2010 Women of Influence honorees exercise power and influence within their industry and throughout the world, and serve as role models for future generations of leaders. The complete list of honorees was revealed in a special supplement to the San Jose Business Journal, March 19 issue.

The awards will be presented at an awards event on April 8, 2010, at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, California.
